The objective of this study is to analyze the results of the e-learning course “Health promotion, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of idiopathic scoliosis,” directed to the Italian healthcare professionals involved in idiopathic scoliosis management.

Objectives: To determine whether (1) computer-based self-training for CT colonography (CTC) improves interpretation performance of novice readers; (2) computer-aided detection (CAD) use during training affects learning. Methods: Institutional review board approval and patients’ informed consent were obtained for all cases included in this study. Twenty readers (17 radiology residents, 3 radiologists) with no experience in CTC interpretation were recruited in three centres. After an introductory course, readers performed a baseline assessment test (37 cases) using CAD as second reader.

Introduzione La condizione di espansione incontrollata di numerose aree urbane nel nostro Paese ha prodotto una quantità di trasformazioni incapaci di garantire lo sviluppo virtuoso della città. Soprattutto l’assenza di progettualità legata ai luoghi e l’incapacità di gestire la crescita dei sistemi urbani determina una conseguente marginalità relativa di queste aree ed è alla base di condizioni sempre più critiche dell’abitare (Ronzoni, 2001). È proprio il benessere degli individui che le abitano ciò che appare maggiormente negato.

This report provides comparable estimates of inequality of opportunity for tertiary education for about 30 countries in Europe, exploiting the two EU-SILC waves for which information on family background is available (2005 and 2011). It exploits the two point-in-time observations available for most of the countries and analyzes the relationship between many institutional dimensions and inequality of opportunity in tertiary education.

Education policies can work as integration policies for children with immigrant origins.
The literature on that matter is rich for settlement countries and for the European
countries that have a long tradition of immigration. The lack in the availability of data
in many EU has made dicult to carry out comparative analysis of the integration
process in those countries, particularly for the second-generation. This work lls this
gap, analysing the role of the socio-economic background in the educational outcome of

Immigration into the OECD countries has seen a sharp increase since the middle of the 1980s, even if not at a constant rate. Integration policies are a fundamental tool to help the newly arrived to integrate and assimilate with the native population.

Schools, and especially universities, are currently undergoing major challenges as their
role in society constantly changes. From a teaching perspective, the internet and online
technologies have seen the introduction of massive online offered courses (MOOCS) and the
opportunity for students to choose between online, distance, and mixed-modes of education.
These changes are disrupting the foundations of traditional schools that must now compete
with public and private online offerings that challenge face-to-face classroom teaching.

In this paper, the importance is underlined of promoting higher education
and training courses and opportunities, focused on a close connection between GIS
and geography to cover topics of remarkable and daily social interest. In the first
part of the contribution, some educational key points are defined in order to fuel a
virtuous circle which can provide considerable methodological and applied skills in
