EVAR

Evolving concepts and management of endoleaks after endovascular aneurysm repair: where do we stand in 2019?

In recent years, there has been tremendous progress in endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) techniques and devices. This process has seen a change in incidence, risk factors, and treatment of endoleaks as well as in follow-up protocols after EVAR. In particular, recent literature has highlighted new concepts in the evaluation and prevention/treatment of type I and II endoleak after standard EVAR. There is also recent evidence regarding new imaging protocols for follow-up after EVAR, which include magnetic resonance imaging and contrast-enhanced ultrasound.

Post-Implantation Syndrome. The impact of different devices for endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair and related etiopathogenetic implications

Postimplantation syndrome (PIS) is a systemic inflammatory response occurring in early phase after abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) endovascular repair (EVAR). PIS can also occur after endovascular aneurysm sealing (EVAS) with Nellix system which prevent new onset of mural thrombus inside. Aim was to compare the incidence of PIS after EVAS and EVAR in order to evaluate the possible role of the new-onset thrombus inside the aneurysmal sac.

Aortic bifurcation morphology alone is not able to predict outcome in patients submitted to elective endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair

PURPOSE:
The aim of the present study was to evaluate the impact of the aortic bifurcation (AB) morphological characteristics, analyzed on computed tomography angiography (CTA), on outcomes of patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs), treated by endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) in a single-center experience.

Immediate results of the expanding indications for treatment with standard EVAR in patients with challenging anatomies, a multi-centric prospective evaluation - EXTREME Study

Aims: to report the 30-day technical and clinical success with endovascular repair using the ultra-low-profile Ovation stent-graft in patients judged out of instruction for use (IFU) for conventional endografts, while amendable to treatment inside the IFU for Ovation (Endologix, Irvine, CA - USA).
