Water bombs

Assessment and possible solution to increase the resilience of Terni distribution Grid: The ice sleeves formation threat

The paper proposes a procedure to assess the resilience of an electricity distribution grid against possible threats and, in particular, with respect to extreme weather events (e.g. water bombs, heat waves, ice sleeves). This procedure, which implements the exploration of the network graph based on the 'Shortest Path' algorithm, calculates the performance indices by evaluating the number and magnitude of interruptions produced by the considered threat. The procedure also identifies the defensive actions to be implemented in order to minimize the impact.
