This article presents an overview of the production of ‘iambic’ ecclesiastical canons during the Greek Middle Ages by offering the first catalogue ‘raisonné’ of ecclesiastical hymnographic texts of this kind – several of which still remain unpublished – and by addressing the issues related to their authorship.
