Despite endoscopic resection is safer than surgery, surgery is considered the recommended treatment in pT1-CRC with pathological high-risk features because the risk of lymph node metastasis (LNM) is high. A great variability in histological analysis has been reported. One of the explanations is the lack of agreement in reporting histological risk factors. The aim of our study was to assess how the second opinion of an expert pathologist may affect management of pT1-CRC.
