Abstract:
We want to investigate multiplicity, uniqueness and qualitative properties (e.g. existence of a priori bounds, nondegeneracy, Morse index estimates, symmetries, etc) for families of solutions to certain parameter depending semilinear elliptic PDEs, such as the Lane-Emden equation.
Our analysis will strongly rely on the study of the asymptotic behavior of the solutions as the parameter approaches suitable critical values.

Innovatività:
The problems that we want to tackle in this research are central open questions in the elliptic PDEs community, even for the model Lane-Emden problem. Thus solving them will certainly push ahead the knowledge on this subject.
