Building performance monitoring: From in-situ measurement to regression-based approaches

Simple and robust data analysis methodologies are crucial to learn insights from measured data and reduce the performance gap in building stock. For this reason, continuous performance monitoring should become a more diffuse practice in order to improve our design and operation strategies for the future. The research presented aims to highlight potential links between experimental approaches for test-facilities and methods and tools used for continuous performance monitoring, at the state of the art.

How climate change affects the building energy consumptions due to cooling, heating, and electricity demands of italian residential sector

Climate change affects the buildings’ performance, significantly influencing energy consumption, as well as the indoor thermal comfort. As a consequence, the growing outdoor environmental temperatures entail a slight reduction in heating consumption and an increase in cooling consumption, with different overall effects depending on the latitudes. This document focuses attention on the Italian residential sector, considering the current and reduced meteorological data, in anticipation of future climate scenarios.

A project to identify the best practices and health performance objectives for building construction and renovation

The 2014-2018 National Prevention Plan (NPP), in order to promote a correct relationship between health and the environment, indicated, among the central objectives, the definition of guidelines to promote the building hygiene codes in an eco-compatible way, but also to develop specific skills on the subject of confined environments and residential construction in the operators of the Regional Health Services.
