In recent years the historical urban patrimony has seen new threats to its protection, some common to different contexts, others more specific: from the pressures to the homologation of the processes of globalization, to the unsustainable consumption of resources; from a further intense urbanization process in some contexts, to the emptying of the population in others; from the settlement pressures to the territories on the margins of the protected historical areas, to the emergence of issues related to the construction of equipment for the production of energy from renewable sources.

Il tema del patrimonio culturale nelle politiche dell’Amministrazione Comu-nale di Roma insediatasi a metà del 2016, data la vastità e le ramificazioni dell’argomento, obbliga a fare delle scelte anche piuttosto drastiche. La pri-ma è che saranno considerati solo i beni materiali e, tra questi, solo il patri-monio urbano storico e con esso i beni archeologici e architettonici. Non sa-ranno, invece, presi in considerazione gli eventi culturali connessi.
