Comparison of Approaches for Data Analysis of Multi-Parametric Monitoring Systems: Insights from the Acuto Test-Site (Central Italy)

This paper deals with monitoring systems to manage the risk due to fast slope failures
that involve rock masses, in which important elements (such as infrastructures or cultural heritages,
among the others) are exposed. Three different approaches for data analysis were here compared
to evaluate their suitability for detecting mutual relations among destabilising factors, acting on
different time windows, and induced strain effects on rock masses: (i) an observation-based approach

Landslides triggered after the 16 August 2018 Mw 5.1 Molise earthquake (Italy) by a combination of intense rainfalls and seismic shaking

On 16 August 2018, a Mw 5.1 earthquake occurred in the Molise region (Central Italy) during an intense rainfall event which cumulated up to 140 mm in 3 days. Within 5 days after the seismic event, 88 landslides were surveyed and classified in disrupted and coherent as well as in first-time failures and reactivation. As it resulted by the inventorying, most of the surveyed ground effects were represented by coherent landslides involving clays, marly clays, and cover deposits on low dipping slopes.

Geological and geomorphological analysis of a complex landslides system. The case of San Martino sulla Marruccina (Abruzzo, Central Italy)

This work deals with the landslides affecting the area surrounding the village of San Martino sulla Marrucina and involving the neighboring municipalities of Casacanditella and Filetto. The geological and geomorphological settings of this area are being discussed. The enclosed maps have been realized following a multidisciplinary approach, based on morphometric, geological, and geomorphological analyses and supported by air-photo interpretation, dendrochronology, and satellite SAR interferometry (InSAR).
