Chronic Disease

Current and emerging evidence-based treatment options in chronic migraine. a narrative review

Background: Chronic migraine is a disabling condition that is currently underdiagnosed and undertreated. In this narrative review, we discuss the future of chronic migraine management in relation to recent progress in evidence-based pharmacological treatment. Findings: Patients with chronic migraine require prophylactic therapy to reduce the frequency of migraine attacks, but the only currently available evidence-based prophylactic treatment options for chronic migraine are topiramate and onabotulinumtoxinA.

Stress-related vulnerability and usefulness of healthcare education in Parkinson's disease. the perception of a group of family caregivers, a cross-sectional study

Parkinson's Disease is associated with a high assistive complexity, thus generating in caregivers a burden proportional to the intensity of the care provided. This study aims to evaluate whether the stress-related level of caregivers is related to their perception of the need for healthcare education. A cross-sectional study was conducted on 69 family caregivers that completed the Stress-related Vulnerability Scale (SVS scale) with a tool of proposed interventions stratified according to caregivers' need as “nothing”, “somewhat”, “moderately” and “extremely”.

Nuclear Medicine Imaging in Pediatric Infection or Chronic Inflammatory Diseases

In this review article, we focus on the most recent applications of nuclear medicine techniques (mainly 99mTc/111In white blood cells (WBC) scan, [18F]-FDG-PET/CT, [18F]-FDG-PET/MRI, and 99mTc-IL-2 scintigraphy) in the study of children affected by peripheral bone osteomyelitis, fungal infections, inflammatory bowel diseases, and type 1 diabetes, owing to recent important published evidences of their role in the management of these diseases.

POSITIVITY AND ITS ASSOCIATION WITH QUALITY OF LIFE OUTCOMES AND HEALTH BEHAVIORS. Proceedings XX NATIONAL CONGRESS ITALIAN PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION CLINICAL AND DYNAMIC SECTION URBINO - 7/9 SEPTEMBER 2018 Abstracts

Introduction: Positive Orientation is a general tendency to react to life experiences in a positive way,
a rather pervasive way of looking at and facing reality, framing events, interpreting and evaluating

not just a good indicator of the optimal functioning of the individual but promotes such adaptation.
In fact, several results show that people with higher scores on this scale experience greater positive

Positive Orientation and Health-related Quality of Life in Adult Patients Born With Anorectal Malformations

Objectives: Anorectal malformations (ARMs) are rare congenital colorectal anomalies, which may have a negative impact on health-related quality of
life (HRQoL) due to long-lasting consequences, like fecal incontinence. The aim of the present study was to test whether a pervasive mode of appraising
and viewing life experiences from a positive stance (ie, positivity) mediates the effect of fecal continence on HRQoL.
