Today, knowledge of archaeological artifacts at various representation scales is required of any 3D model. The significance of constructing digital models in the domain of archaeology reinforces the theoretical bases of survey and representation, as structured systems for organizing and communicating information, and for critical analysis which optimizes the results obtained from the concerted work of archaeologists, architects, and informatics experts.

Archeologia e tecnologie di rete. Metodi, strumenti e risorse digitali è un volume che fa il punto sulle applicazioni delle tecnologie di rete alla metodologia delle ricerca archeologica. L’archeologia è sempre stata una disciplina estremamente curiosa nei confronti delle innovazioni tecnologiche, e ha sperimentato precocemente ciò che le scienze informatiche hanno messo di volta in volta a disposizione.

In 2015, a paper on the archaeobotany as a key tool ‘for the understanding of the bio- cultural diversity of the Italian landscape’ gave rise to a new initiative, the realization of the first cooperative network of archaeobotanists and palynologists working on archaeological sites located in Italy. The Botanical Record of Archaeobotany Italian Network has been introduced at MedPalyno2015 in Rome. Now the BRAIN database is ready as a website at https://brainplants.unimore.it

Il progetto che ispira il volume è la produzione e analisi di dati certi e stabilizzati sul sistema universitario, in una cornice interpretativa presentata da docenti e ricercatori impegnati da tempo in studi e ricerche sul riformismo e sui processi di innovazione negli atenei.
Il libro parte dalla convinzione che un elemento rilevante di crisi dell’Università, e persino del dibattito che su essa si accende - coinvolgendo dunque il suo rapporto con l’opinione pubblica e il Paese - consiste in un deficit di socializzazione e dunque di conoscenza diffusa dei dati di base.

Il saggio presenta e introduce il libro "UNIBOOK. Per un database sull’Università". La scelta del volume è quella di mettere al centro i dati, ma senza morire soffocati dalla loro moltitudine; essi sono stati dunque selezionati secondo un rigoroso ordine di priorità, ispirandosi all’idea che un database volutamente essenziale non possa che essere leggibile anche dai non addetti ai lavori.

In the last two decades, we have witnessed an impressive crescendo of non-coding RNA studies, due to both the development of high-throughput RNA-sequencing strategies and an ever-increasing awareness of the involvement of newly discovered ncRNA classes in complex regulatory networks.

L'originaria federazione EAGLE (Electronic Archive of Greek and Latin Epigraphy), che dal 2003 raggruppa le banche dati EDB, EDH, EDR e Hispania Epigraphica Digitale, ha ricevuto, per il triennio 2013-2016, un consistente finanziamento dalla Commissione Europea nell'ambito del programma ICT-PSP, che ha consentito un notevole progresso nella digitalizzazione delle iscrizioni antiche e nella loro reperibilità e accessibilità, sia per gli accademici che per i non addetti ai lavori.

Recently, the Albanian Government started the process to join the European Union. This process also involves matching the EU parameters in protecting its biodiversity. In order to support the Albanian authorities, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, General Directorate for Development Cooperation (DGCS) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) joined efforts in the project “Institutional Support to the Albanian Ministry of Environment, Forest and Water Administration for Sustainable Biodiversity Conservation and Use in Protected Areas”.

The BRAIN (Botanical Records of Archaeobotany Italian Network) database and networkwas developed by the cooperation of archaeobotanists working on Italian archaeologicalsites. Examples of recent research including pollen or other plant remains in analytical andsynthetic papers are reported as an exemplar reference list. This paper retraces the mainsteps of the creation of BRAIN, from the scientific need for the first research cooperationto the website which has a free online access since 2015.
