The global affirmation of an economic-administrative form of government and the extension of a business rationale to all public and private spheres, to political, social, and even strictly economic domains, implied a profound change. This transformation is at the core of this essay.

The issue of debt and how it effects our lives is becoming more and more urgent. The "Austerity" model has been the prevalent European economic policies of recent years led by the "German model". Elettra Stimilli draws upon contemporary philosophy, psychology and theology to argue that austerity is built on the idea that we somehow deserve to be punished and need to experience guilt in order to take full account of our economic sins.
The aim of this paper is to analyze use and development of some central concepts in the Italian Contemporary Thought - as General Intellect, Biopolitics, Political Theology, Economic Theology, Debt. The interest is that to reflect on some critical moments, in order to identify new possibilities still open for the future in the same weaknesses.
