PAThs – Tracking Papyrus and Parchment Paths: An Archaeological Atlas of Coptic Literature. Literary Texts in their Geographical Context. Production, Copying, Usage, Dissemination and Storage is an ambitious digital project based in Rome, working towards a new historical and archaeological geography of the Coptic literary tradition.
Il contributo illustra i progressi raggiunti nell'interpretazione dell'aspetto funzionale del Comitium e nella lettura della lex del Niger Lapis, grazie ad un approccio multidisciplinare che coinvolge esperti dei diversi settori delle Digital Humanities. Il "modello Comitium", elaborato con riferimento al Foro Romano, è applicabile anche alle colonie e ai municipi romani.
Recent trends in scholarship publications, public debate on newspapers, and digital projects in the humanities seem to privilege the quantitative and computational approach to historical studies, as it is considered more objective, and therefore more correct. But some examples driven from direct experience in the field of digital epigraphy show how important the human component of any digital project still is for a whole and more correct comprehension of the traces of the past.
EAGLE (Electronic Archive of Greek and Latin Epigraphy) è una federazione, nata nel 2003, di 4 banche dati epigrafiche digitali (Epigraphic Database Bari-EDB, Epigraphische Datenbank Heidelberg-EDH, Epigraphic Database Roma-EDR, e Hispania Epigraphica Online). Nel 2013 EAGLE è diventato un progetto europeo più complesso e articolato, co-finanziato dalla Commissione Europea per 36 mesi nel quadro del programma ICT-PSP.
