dyspareunia

Endometriosis and sexual functioning: How much do psycho-emotional factors matter?

Endometriosis is a gynecological condition often associated with genito-pelvic pain. Psycho-emotional factors, such as lack of emotional awareness and/or presence of negative emotions, have an important role on sexual dysfunctions. These factors could be associated with higher pain perception and worse sexual outcomes in endometriosis women. The aim of the present study was to compare the psycho-emotional profile and the sexual functioning of women with and without endometriosis.

Vaginal natural oxygenation device (VNOD) for concomitant administration of hyaluronic acid and topical hyperbaric oxygen to treat vulvo-vaginal atrophy. a pilot study

Abstract
OBJECTIVE:
This is a pilot study to evaluate the effectiveness of concomitant administration of hyaluronic acid and topical hyperbaric oxygen therapy (THOT) by a specifically designed medical device (vaginal natural oxygenation device, VNOD) in improving the symptomatology of postmenopausal patients with vulvo-vaginal atrophy (VVA).

New medical device containing verbascoside, carrageenan and glycerophosphoinositol for the treatment of dyspareunia in reproductive age women. A prospective observational study

Introduction: Dyspareunia, especially in reproductive age, often has a negative impact on women's sexual life, with great psychological impact. Our aim was to assess the effect of a device containing verbascoside, glycerophosphoinositol (GPI), hyaluronic acid sodium salt (HANa) and carrageenan (CG) for the treatment of idiopathic dyspareunia and its impact on sexual function in reproductive age women. Methods: We recruited 43 sexually active women of reproductive age who had been suffering from superficial idiopathic dyspareunia in the last 6 months.

Safety evaluation of fractional CO2 laser treatment in post-menopausal women with vaginal atrophy: a prospective observational study

Objectives: To evaluate the safety of and patient satisfaction with fractional CO2 laser for the treatment of vulvo-vaginal atrophy (VVA) in postmenopausal patients. Study design: Patients affected by VVA were considered for the study. All women were treated using a Lumenis AcuPulse DUO (Lumenis, Yokneam, Israel) in fractionated mode with a 28 mm probe, FemTouch™. Pain during different steps of the procedure (introduction, rotation and extraction of probe and laser impulse transmission) was evaluated on a 7-point Likert scale.

Micronized palmitoylethanolamide/trans-polydatin treatment of endometriosis-related pain: a meta-analysis

Aim. To demonstrate clinical effectiveness of micronized palmitoylethanolamide-transpolydatin
combination in reducing endometriotic chronic pelvic pain. Other endometriotic-
pains were also assessed.
Methods. Systematic reviews of PubMed, SCIELO, Scopus, and AJOL. Randomized
trials and observational studies reporting a visual analogue scale for pain or similar in
endometriotic patients were reviewed. A mean improvement of visual analogue scale (or
visual analogue scale-like) scores at enrollment and at a three-month follow-up was assessed
