The detection of X@TiO2 core-shell nanoparticles in coatings used for stone protection

In restoration of cultural heritage field, it has been developed nanoparticles coatings having multifunctional features to protect stone artifacts against environmental degrading agents. The nanoparticles concentration detection within the coating can represent a challenging issue because its monitoring over time can provide insights about the treatment durability. The “sample” under consideration consists in marble coated by amorphous silica in which nanoparticles are dispersed.
