Objective: To evaluate the prognostic value of sequential dual-phase CBCT (DP-CBCT) imaging performed during degradable starch microsphere TACE (DSM-TACE) session in predicting the HCC’s response to treatment, evaluate with modify response evaluation criteria in solid tumours (mRECIST) at 1-month multi-detector CT (MDCT) follow-up. Materials and methods: Between January and May 2018, 24 patients (68.5 ± 8.5 year [45–85]) with HCC lesions (n = 96 [average 4/patient]) were prospectively enrolled.

Inferior epigastric artery pseudoaneurysm secondary to port placement during a robot-assisted laparoscopic radical cystectomy

Pseudoaneurysm occurs when the artery wall is damaged and the blood is contained by the surrounding tissues with the eventual formation of a fibrous sac communicating with the artery. We report a case of a 74-year-old man with inferior epigastric artery (IEA) pseudoaneurysm secondary to an 8-mm port placement during a robot-assisted laparoscopic radical cystectomy with ureteroileocutaneostomy. The pseudoaneurysm was initially diagnosed by contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS); subsequently, a computed tomography (CT) scan and an angiography test were performed.

The role of grade of injury in non-operative management of blunt hepatic and splenic trauma. Case series from a multicenter experience

This retrospective study shows the results of a 2 years application of a clinical pathway concerning the indications to NOM based on the patient's hemodynamic answer instead of on the injury grade of the lesions.We conducted a retrospective study applied on a patient's cohort, admitted in "Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Ospedali Riuniti of Ancona" and in the Digestive and Emergency Surgery Department of the Santa Maria of Terni hospital between September 2015 and December 2017, all affected by blunt abdominal trauma, involving liver, spleen or both of them managed conservatively.

Endovascular treatment of visceral artery aneurysms and pseudoaneurysms with stent-graft: Analysis of immediate and long-term results

The aim of this study is to analyze the safety and efficacy of stent-graft endovascular treatment for visceral artery aneurysms and pseudoaneurysms.
METHODS:
Multicentric retrospective series of patients with visceral aneurysms and pseudoaneurysms treated by means of stent graft. The following variables were analyzed: Age, sex, type of lesion (aneurysms/pseudoaneurysms), localization, rate of success, intraprocedural and long term complication rate (SIR classification). Follow-up was performed under clinical and radiological assessment.
RESULTS:

A rare presentation of an isolated internal iliac artery aneurysm: report of a case and literature review

solated internal iliac artery aneurysms (IIIAAs) are extremely rare. We present the case of a 75-year-old white Caucasian male patient admitted for right lower limb deep venous thrombosis and low-risk pulmonary embolism due to the compression of the external iliac vein from an IIIAA. A review of the literature was also performed to identify the epidemiologic, clinical characteristics and diagnostic and operative strategies of this disease. At present, a recommendation for the best operative strategy in the presence of an IIIAA is difficult.
