Eraclito

Per una critica della conoscenza sensibile. ‘Vista’ e ‘udito’ fra Eraclito e Parmenide

In this paper I examine Heraclitus’ and Parmenides’ criticism of sensible perception (particularly of sight and hearing) to show how it falls within a very precise theory of knowledge of which the two philosophers share the general lines. In this theoretical framework, sensible
perception is condemned not in itself, but if and when it is not accompanied by a rational evaluation that critically verifies its contents.
