Search for dijet resonances in events with an isolated charged lepton using √s = 13 TeV proton-proton collision data collected by the ATLAS detector

A search for dijet resonances in events with at least one isolated charged lepon is performed using 139 fb−1 of s = 13 TeV proton-proton collision data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The dijet invariant-mass (mjj) distribution constructed from events with at least one isolated electron or muon is searched in the region 0.22 < mjj< 6.3 TeV for excesses above a smoothly falling background from Standard Model processes. Triggering based on the presence of a lepton in the event reduces limitations imposed by minimum transverse momentum thresholds for triggering on jets.

Search for pairs of scalar leptoquarks decaying into quarks and electrons or muons in √s = 13 TeV pp collisions with the ATLAS detector

A search for new-physics resonances decaying into a lepton and a jet performed by the ATLAS experiment is presented. Scalar leptoquarks pair-produced in pp collisions at s = 13 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider are considered using an integrated luminosity of 139 fb−1, corresponding to the full Run 2 dataset. They are searched for in events with two electrons or two muons and two or more jets, including jets identified as arising from the fragmentation of c- or b-quarks. The observed yield in each channel is consistent with the Standard Model background expectation.

Search for new resonances in mass distributions of jet pairs using 139 fb(-1) of pp collisions at root s=13TeV with the ATLAS detector

A search for new resonances decaying into a pair of jets is reported using the dataset of proton-proton collisions recorded at s = 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider between 2015 and 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb(-1). The distribution of the invariant mass of the two leading jets is examined for local excesses above a data-derived estimate of the Standard Model background. In addition to an inclusive dijet search, events with jets identified as containing b-hadrons are examined specifically.

Observation of the Λb0→χc1 (3872) pK− decay

Using proton-proton collision data, collected with the LHCb detector and corresponding to 1.0, 2.0 and 1.9 fb−1 of integrated luminosity at the centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV, respectively, the decay Λ0b→χc1(3872)pK− with χc1(3872) → J/ψ π+π− is observed for the first time. The significance of the observed signal is in excess of seven standard deviations. It is found that (58 ± 15)% of the decays proceed via the two-body intermediate state χc1(3872)Λ(1520).

Measurement of b hadron fractions in 13 TeV pp collisions

The production fractions of ¯B0s and Λ0b hadrons, normalized to the sum of B− and ¯B0 fractions, are measured in 13 TeV pp collisions using data collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.67  fb−1. These ratios, averaged over the b hadron transverse momenta from 4 to 25 GeV and pseudorapidity from 2 to 5, are 0.122±0.006 for ¯B0s, and 0.259±0.018 for Λ0b, where the uncertainties arise from both statistical and systematic sources. The Λ0b ratio depends strongly on transverse momentum, while the ¯B0s ratio shows a mild dependence.

Search for beautiful tetraquarks in the ϒ(1S)μ + μ − invariant-mass spectrum

The ϒ(1S)μ+μ− invariant-mass distribution is investigated for a possible exotic meson state composed of two b quarks and two b¯ quarks, Xbb¯bb¯. The analysis is based on a data sample of pp collisions recorded with the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies s=7, 8 and 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.3 fb−1. No significant excess is found, and upper limits are set on the product of the production cross-section and the branching fraction as functions of the mass of the Xbb¯bb¯ state.
