Good

Bene, individuo ed energia in Iris Murdoch

Goodness is the main concept of Iris Murdoch's moral philosophy. This notion is not a projection but a full reality. «Realism» means that we don't create it. Goodness shouldn't be studied separately, though, but as closely connected to the nature of human being. For us, it is an object of perception and contemplation. Murdoch's notion of Value also softens and makes sense of the dark background of human life, characterised by mortality, suffering, selfishness and pointlessness; a life lacking a transcendent guaranty.
