Social and demographic characteristics of frequent or high‐charge emergency department users: A quantile regression application

Objective
Heavy users of the emergency department (ED) are a heterogeneous population. Few studies have captured the social and demographic complexity of patients with the largest burden of ED use. Our objective was to model associations between social and demographic patient characteristics and quantiles of the distributions of ED use, defined as frequent and high‐charge.
Methods

Reduction of multidrug-resistant (Mdr) bacterial infections during the covid-19 pandemic: A retrospective study

Multidrug-resistant (MDR) organisms are emerging as some of the main healthcare prob-lems worldwide. During the COVID-19 pandemic, several Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) measures have been adopted to reduce nosocomial microorganism transmission. We performed a case–control study to identify if the incidence of MDR bacterial infections while using pandemic-related preventive measures is lower than in previous years. From 2017 to 2020, we monitored hospital discharges over a four-month period (P #) (1 March to 30 June) in St. Andrea Hospital, Rome.

Electrical Business Continuity Management: Towards a code

Advanced guidelines have to support the design of every electric power systems in hunting performances of safety, dependability and costs saving. Particularly, power systems, critical for the mission of their loads and/or equalized to mission critical for the vulnerability of their supplying network, need a 'partition system', local fortified structure, interface between network and utilization, designed as a service continuity 'castle' and managed to guarantee an adequate response to every emergency.
