Perceived preparedness of dental academic institutions to cope with the covid-19 pandemic: A multi-country survey

Dental academic institutions are affected by COVID-19. We assessed the perceived COVID19 preparedness of these institutions and the characteristics of institutions with greater perceived preparedness. An international cross-sectional survey of dental academics was conducted from March to August 2020 to assess academics’ and institutional attributes, perceived preparedness, and availability of infection prevention and control (IPC) equipment. Principal component analysis (PCA) identified perceived preparedness components.

Whither the state? On Santi Romano’s The legal order

This essay foregrounds the relevance of Italian jurist Santi Romano’s theorizing to today’s political and legal debates on the relation between state and non-state laws. As Romano’s classic book L’ordinamento giuridico (1917–1918) has finally been translated into English, the Anglophone readership can take stock of one of the most enlightening contributions to institutional thinking in the last centuries.

This article juxtaposes Santi Romano’s legal-pluralist paradigm with other approaches to
illustrate why his theory contributes to contemporary debates in the international academic
environment. I first identify the differences between Romano and his contemporaries. In
this regard, it is my claim that his theory stands out from the rest as he was able to advocate a
pluralist conception of law without dissolving the legal into the social. I then put Romano’s
