Sexual Modes Questionnaire (SMQ). Translation and psychometric properties of the italian version of the Automatic Thought Scale

Background: The Sexual Modes Questionnaire (SMQ) is a validated and widespread used tool to assess the association among negative automatic thoughts, emotions, and sexual response during sexual activity in men and women. Aim: To test the psychometric characteristics of the Italian version of the SMQ focusing on the Automatic Thoughts subscale (SMQ-AT). Methods: After linguistic translation, the psychometric properties (internal consistency, construct, and discriminant validity) were evaluated.

Epidemiology and diagnostic and therapeutic management of febrile seizures in the Italian pediatric emergency departments: a prospective observational study

Aim: Febrile seizures (FS) involve 2–5% of the paediatric population, among which Complex FS (CFS) account for one third of accesses for FS in Emergency Departments (EDs).
The aim of our study was to define the epidemiology, the clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic approach to FS and CFSs in the Italian EDs.
Methods: A multicenter prospective observational study was performed between April 2014 and March 2015.

FTO rs9939609 influence on adipose tissue localization in the Italian population

OBJECTIVE: Among the genes involved in obesity, the Fat mass and obesity-associated gene (FTO) is certainly one of the most known and the relation between FTO rs9939609 and BMI is highly discussed; nevertheless, data about its influence on body composition are limited. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We carried out a study on a sample of 1066 Italian subjects, whose body composition and FTO rs9939609 were analyzed.
