Perceived risk assessment through open-source intelligent techniques for opinion mining and sentiment analysis. The case study of the Papal Basilica and Sacred Convent of Saint Francis in Assisi, Italy

The assessment of the perceived risk by people is extremely important for security management. Each person relies on other people's opinion to make a choice and the Internet is where these opinions are mostly researched, found and reviewed. For this reason, opinion mining and sentiment analysis represents relevant fields of study. One of their most innovative applications is in the field of public security: in this case security managers can use people's expressed perceptions to discover unforeseen and potential weak points.

Threats analysis and security analysis for critical infrastructures. Risk analysis vs. game theory

The last twenty years have brought numerous enhancements in technologies for Critical Infrastructure Protection, but risk assessment still represents a significant challenge to be addressed, as threats strongly depend on human action. This paper presents a novel model for addressing threats and security analysis, based on fundamental concepts of Game theory, basing it only from intelligent and rational decisionmakers, without any other definition. The framework aims to identify preferred strategies of the attacker's action and to measure the propensity to perpetrate an attack.

PSA-LOPA. A novel method for physical security risk analysis based on layers of protection analysis

Physical security risk analysis represents a fundamental tool to evaluate the threats regarding an organization and it can be divided into distinct groups, represented by: qualitative, semi-quantitative, quantitative, and mixed. The method of analysis is very important because it also allows to measure the increase in the level of security following the improvements of planned activities to step-up the levels of protection of a given site.
