The issue of debt and how it effects our lives is becoming more and more urgent. The "Austerity" model has been the prevalent European economic policies of recent years led by the "German model". Elettra Stimilli draws upon contemporary philosophy, psychology and theology to argue that austerity is built on the idea that we somehow deserve to be punished and need to experience guilt in order to take full account of our economic sins.

The focus of this text is not so much the revolution itself, but rather the possibility of reworking the effects of a revolution. More precisely, the problem at stake is if it is possible a revolutionary reworking of the counter-revolutionary effects of a revolution. In this sense, the aim of this contribution is to demonstrate the philosophical centrality of the point of view of an observer of the facts.

The aim of this essay is to focus the figure of Socrates in Foucault’s Course of 1981-1982, The Hermeneutics of the Subject, with particular attention to the reasons why the Delphic maxim “know yourself ” (gnothi seautòn) took precedence over the Lacedaemonian maxim “take care of yourself ” (epimelei heautoù) in the “Plato’s Socrates”. A process that has characterized philosophy since its inception, with a decisive change in what Foucault calls the “Cartesian moment”.

Il problema del debito viene analizzato in questo testo da un punto di vista filosofico in rapporto alla recente crisi dell’Europa. Non una carenza della politica rispetto al predominio dell’economia del Mercato Comune ha condotto l'Europa al suo collasso. L’Unione Europea, piuttosto, sulle orme della Germania, è sorta come istituzione politica a partire da quella stessa libertà del mercato, su cui è si è formata anche la Repubblica Federale Tedesca nel dopoguerra.

Max Weber’s account of the rise of capitalism focused on his concept of a Protestant ethic, valuing diligence in earning and saving money but restraint in spending it. However, such individual restraint is foreign to contemporary understandings of finance, which treat ever-increasing consumption and debt as natural, almost essential, for maintaining the economic cycle of buying and selling.

Dans cet article, je propose quelques brèves considérations en marge du chef-d’œuvre de Michel Foucault, Surveiller et punir.

Il compito di questo lavoro è pensare un ordine del discorso politico qui e ora, nelle nuove condizioni date dalla crisi della politica (e della modernità). Il riferimento è a L’ordine del discorso di Michel Foucault, ai suoi principi costitutivi: rovesciamento, discontinuità, specificità, esteriorità. Bisogna innanzitutto operare un rovesciamento, guardare alla rarefazione dei discorsi piuttosto che al principio universale che li produce.

Nuova edizione riveduta e ampliata della "Introduzione a Foucault" pubblicata per la prima volta nel 2000, aggiornata una prima volta nel 2008 e ora ulteriormente sviluppata sulla base delle molte pubblicazioni inedite di Foucault (a partire dalla serie dei suoi Corsi al Collège de France e dal IV volume di "Storia della Sessualità", Les Aveux de la Chair, edito in Francia nel 2018) apparse negli ultimi quindici anni. Anche la bibliografia è stata completamente aggiornata.
