Harpagophytum procumbens is a plant species that displays anti-inflammatory properties in multiple tissues. The
iridoid glycosides arpagoside, harpagide, and procumbide appear to be the most therapeutically important
constituents. In addition, harpagoside treatment exerted neuroprotective effects both in vitro and in vivo.
