Un nuovo busto loricato di Settimio Severo

The article publishes for the first time a loricate marble bust, unearthed in clandestine excavations and subject to illicit traffic, which was recovered by the Guardia di Finanza in December 2017 in Rome, Piazza Esedra. The loricate bust depicts Septimius Severus and enriches the knowledge of the fourth type of portraits of the emperor: in addition to a new list of replicas, the author also discusses the occasion and function of the archetype.
