Transperineal rectocele repair with biomesh. Updating of a tertiary refer center prospective study

Purpose: Symptomatic rectocele results in obstructed defecation and constipation. Surgical repair may provide symptomatic relief. A variety of surgical procedures have been used in the rectocele repair to enhance anatomical and functional results and to improve long-term outcomes. Methods: In this prospective study, we treated 25 selected women suffering from simple symptomatic rectocele with transperineal repair using porcine dermal acellular collagen matrix Biomesh (Permacol®). Watson score and SF-36 questionnaire were used to evaluate postoperative outcomes and quality of life.

"A psychodynamic couselling intervention for university students seeking psychological help" - Proceedings XXI National Congress Italian Psychological Association, Clinical and Dynamic Section, Milan-27-29 September 2019, SYMPOSIUM SESSION

Introduction: In recent years there has been a rise in the number of university students seeking psychological treatment for their mental health issues that have important implications for academic functioning. Use of machine perfusion in livers showing steatosis prior to transplantation. A systematic review

Background: The role of machine perfusion (MP) in the evaluation of liver grafts with macrovesicular steatosis (MaS) remains ill-defined as only a limited number of studies has been reported. The objective of the current study was to provide a systematic review to evaluate the role of MP in the setting of MaS livers. Methods: A systematic review, according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines was performed. Eligible articles published up to April 2019 were included using the MEDLINE, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases.

Transoral laser microsurgery for Tis, T1, and T2 glottic carcinoma: 5-year follow-up

The aim of this retrospective study is to evaluate the results obtained with CO2 TOLMS in patients with Tis, T1, and T2 glottic tumors at our Department from 2004 to 2016 treated with CO2 TOLMS. One hundred eighty-five patients having a median age of 67 years (range 42–88) were included in the present analysis. The tumor stages of the patients included 134 pTis-T1a, 12 pT1b, and 39 pT2 cases. Median duration of follow-up for the whole study cohort was 55 months (range 24–108 months). At 5-year follow-up, local control was 91%, 83%, and 79.4% for T1a, T1b, and T2 respectively.

Lung metastases treated with stereotactic ablative radiation therapy in oligometastatic colorectal cancer patients. outcomes and prognostic factors after long-term follow-up

BACKGROUND:
We evaluated a series of oligometastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) patients treated with stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy (SABR) delivered in all active lung metastases.
PATIENTS AND METHODS:
Forty-four patients with 69 lung metastases were treated with SABR. Eleven patients presented with other sites of metastases before stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), even though they had controlled/cured systemic disease.
RESULTS:

The differential role of personal resources on career strategies among dismissed call center agents: the case of Almaviva workers.

It is known the protective role of personal resources in stress situations and changes (e.g. Van Den
Heuvel, 2010). Personal resources may help the individual to maximize from environmental
opportunities, to cope with difficulties, to persist when encountering difficulties and capitalize even
from failures. One of the most difficult and challenging work situation is certainly job loss.
The present study aims to emphasize the role of personal resources in a group of 874 call center

Perioperative and mid-term oncologic outcomes of robotic assisted radical cystectomy with totally intracorporeal neobladder: Results of a propensity score matched comparison with open cohort from a single-centre series

Aim: In this study, we compared perioperative and oncologic outcomes of patients treated with either open or robot-assisted radical cystectomy and intracorporeal neobladder at a tertiary care center. Methods: The institutional prospective bladder cancer database was queried for “cystectomy with curative intent” and “neobladder”.

Laparoscopic right hemicolectomy: the SICE (Società Italiana di Chirurgia Endoscopica e Nuove Tecnologie) network prospective trial on 1225 cases comparing intra corporeal versus extra corporeal ileo-colic side-to-side anastomosis

Background: While laparoscopic approach for right hemicolectomy (LRH) is considered appropriate for the surgical treatment of both malignant and benign diseases of right colon, there is still debate about how to perform the ileo-colic anastomosis. The ColonDxItalianGroup (CoDIG) was designed as a cohort, observational, prospective, multi-center national study with the aims of evaluating the surgeons’ attitude regarding the intracorporeal (ICA) or extra-corporeal (ECA) anastomotic technique and the related surgical outcomes.
