Beyond the significant results achieved in field research, the study of the Linguistic Landscape (LL) offers a testing ground for the theoretical and categorical changes that have impacted the latest sociolinguistic research. It is in fact through this concept that linguistic studies have participated in the so-called ‘spatial turn’ so pervasive in the human and social sciences in recent decades marked by an increasingly complex interpretation of space.

The definition of perception concerns the awareness of a reality considered external to the subject. Even before architecture and landscape, other disciplines had already dealt with perception.
In psychology, simultaneously with the discovery of the unconscious by Freud and Jung, the Gestalt theory was developed, with which we passed from an elementary conception of perception to its definition as the sum of interrelated actions organised between themselves, moving the perceptive act on a purely inner level.

L’articolo è concepito come una successione di immagini in un mondo dominato dalle immagini. Anche se Juhani Pallasmaa nel 2005 ha pubblicato "The Eyes of the Skin" offrendo un nuovo modo di interpretare la percezione in Architettura, e Peter Zumthor ha pubblicato suggerimenti per gli studenti in architettura il cui scopo è quello di costruire atmosfere, questo articolo tratta un modo ancestrale di comunicare idee (in particolare idee compositive) attraverso simboli, evocazioni, tracce di immagini, sfumature di ricordi.

This paper deals with the construction of a possible architectural project in four dimensions. It is part of a research on the design theory and related analysis of the compositional process, and on the changing of paradigms in Architecture. To demonstrate the hypothesis of the real consistency of a new 4d spatiality for the Architecture, the design process has been analyzed in form of a theorem, starting from the comparison between the elements of the project and the definitions of the referred geometry, acquired from the study of the mathematical treatises on the fourth dimension.
