Prospective assessment of two-gene urinary test with multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging of the prostate for men undergoing primary prostate biopsy

To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of SelectMDx and its association with multiparametric magnetic resonance (mpMRI) in predicting prostate cancer (PCa) and clinically significant PCa (csPCa) on prostate biopsies among men scheduled for initial prostate biopsy.

Integrated 3D microfluidic device for impedance spectroscopy in lab-on-chip systems

In this paper we demonstrate the implementation of a micro-scaled integrated system with the aim to sort, estimate and monitor the biomass of living cancer cells suspended in a culture medium. For this purpose, a 3D microfluidic network is designed to route small volumes of biological samples to the testing sites and dielectric spectroscopy is chosen as investigation method. Comparative electrical analyses are guaranteed by the separation of sole medium and medium-cells mixture in two different areas of the chip.

Exergy and energy analysis of biogas upgrading by pressure swing adsorption. Dynamic analysis of the process

The aim of this work was to provide a complete exergy and energy analysis of a biogas upgrading technology: pressure swing adsorption. This technology has going to be widely used in Europe, because allowed to reach very high methane recovery (93.4%) and Wobbe Index (50.81 MJ/m3 STP) values. In this study, the upgrading process has been implemented in Aspen Plus and Aspen Adsorption dynamics simulation environment and the biogas was upgraded to biomethane, meeting the UNIT/TS 11537:2019 standards for Biogas to be injected in the gas grid.

A 3-variable prognostic score (3-PS) for overall survival prediction in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer treated with223Radium-dichloride

Objective: In mCRPC patients treated with 223Ra, a major issue is the validation of reliable prognostic and predictive biomarkers to maximize clinical benefit and minimize toxicities and costs. Bearing in mind how changes in tALP did not meet statistical requirements as surrogate marker for survival, aim of this single-center retrospective study was to characterize the prognostic and predictive role of baseline clinical variables associated with overall survival in patients receiving 223Ra treatment.
