OBJECTIVE:The aim of this study is to assess the efficacy of orally administered combination of hyaluronic acid (HA), chondroitin sulfate (CS), curcumin, and quercetin for the prevention of postcoital recurrent urinary tract infection (UTI) in reproductive age women.

Extraction, purification, and determination by HPLC of quercetin in some Italian wines

In this paper, we report a simple method for the determination of quercetin, a typical antioxidant compound ubiquitously present in vegetable food products including grapes and wine. To this aim, 12 Italian wines were analyzed and the amount of quercetin was determined by high-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detector. To reduce the interferences, a minimal sample preparation was performed on solid phase cartridge, then the samples were eluted through a narrow bore C18 column under gradient elution in less than 25 min. Nine wines were red and three white.

Dietary flavonoids: Nano delivery and nanoparticles for cancer therapy

Application of nanotechnologies to cancer therapy might increase solubility and/or bioavailability of bioactive compounds of natural or synthetic origin and offers other potential benefits in cancer therapy, including selective targeting. In the present review we aim to evaluate in vivo studies on the anticancer activity of nanoparticles (NPs) obtained from food-derived flavonoids. From a systematic search a total of 60 studies were identified.

Nano-hydrogel embedded with quercetin and oleic acid as a new formulation in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcer: a pilot study

Biocide activity of green quercetin-mediated synthesized silver nanoparticles

The development of new nanomaterials is gaining increasing attention due to their extensive applications in fields ranging from medicine to food and cultural heritage. Green nanoparticles provide advantages compared to conventional nanoparticles as their synthesis is environmentally-friendly and does not require the use of high temperatures, pressure, or toxic chemicals. In this study, we addressed the potential of quercetin, a widely distributed flavonoid displaying antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer properties, in preventing EBV-driven B cell immortalization.
