The rapid advances of transportation infrastructure have led to a dramatic increase in the demand for smart systems capable of monitoring traffic and street safety. Fundamental to these applications are a community-based evaluation platform and benchmark for object detection and multi-object tracking.
In this article, first of all, I point out the difference I perceive between the conception of social freedom Honneth delineates in Freedom’s Right and the one, inspired by the proto-socialists’ principle of fraternity, that I see operating in The Idea of Socialism (section I). Then, I discuss the advisability of envisaging the future socialist society, as Honneth does, in terms of a ‘fraternal coexistence’, in which a benevolent and fraternal attitude should guide everyone’s actions towards others (section II).
In recent years, in the wake of the coincidence of economic, social and environmental crises, the unceasing inflow of the Other has catalyzed distress and fears. It is a meeting from which arise questions and doubts about crucial issues: personal and collective identity, the balance of society and the capacity of a culture of generating a shared sense.
