An Alternative Technique of Reversal of Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass. the Small Bowel Limb Transposition

Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) is recently the second most frequent operation worldwide and is only preceded by sleeve gastrectomy. We present an alternative technique of reversal of RYGB. There is no need to dissect or resect the gastrojejunal anastomosis. This dissection might be difficult as the gastrojejunal anastomosis might be adherent to the residual stomach. The 2 anastomoses performed are technically easy and done on healthy non-inflammatory tissue.

Tetrahydroquinolinone derivatives as potent P-glycoprotein inhibitors: design, synthesis, biological evaluation and molecular docking analysis

P-glycoprotein (P-gp) is a transmembrane efflux pump that has been associated with ineffective cancer chemotherapy and multidrug resistance (MDR). Chemical inhibitors of P-gp could have potential cancer therapeutic applications by preventing or reversing MDR. To exploit this, we designed twenty-five tetrahydroquinolinone analogs bearing pyridyl methyl carboxylate at C3 and different substituents at C4 as MDR reversal agents.

Restoring and overturning athenian democracy in Aristophanes. Paradigmatic truths and 'carnival reversals'

The two historical examples used by Lysistrata in her peace speech (Ar. Lys. 1137-1156) are not comical distortions, but, just as in actual assembly orations, they rather represent a characteristic ‘modulation du paradigme’, according to which the examples are adapted to support the orator’s objective. The aim of Lysistrata’s speech, in particular, is to enable a shift from the upside-down world of gynecocracy that she herself established, to a full restoration of democratic Athens.
