Social and Economic Impact of a Waste-to-Energy Strategy Applied to the Winemaking Chain: A Case Study in the Italian Countryside

The present work analysed the feasibility and impacts of a biomass-fuelled Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant in the Frascati Scientific Park (FSP). The biomass-fuelled CHP will be fed by the pruning coming from the adjoining vineyards of Frascati DOC winemaking chain, thus creating a circular economy on a supposed waste. This process can help an important economic player in the local social community, which is suffering from climate changes conditions.

The sequencing process generated by the cerebellum crucially contributes to social interactions

The capacity to understand another person’s emotions, intentions, beliefs and personality traits, based on observed or communicated behaviors, is termed social cognition. During the last decade, social neuroscience has made great progress in understanding the neural correlates of social cognition. However, because the cerebellum is traditionally viewed as only involved in motor processing, the contribution of this major part of the brain in social processing has been largely ignored and its specific role in social cognition remains unclear.

Social robots as cultural objects: The sixth dimension of dynamicity?

We investigate youths’ conceptualization of social robots. Informed by Schudson’s theory of the potency of the cultural object, we conducted two studies. The first study centered on essays on social robots written by bachelor’s and master’s students. The second study centered on prototypes of social robots built by small groups comprised of same students. The essays and prototypes were content analyzed. The results confirm that social robots embody all five dimensions that characterize cultural objects.
