Search for lepton-flavour-violating decays of Higgs-like bosons

A search is presented for a Higgs-like boson with mass in the range 45 to 195GeV/c2 decaying into a muon and a tau lepton. The dataset consists of proton-proton interactions at a centre-of-mass energy of 8TeV, collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2fb-1. The tau leptons are reconstructed in both leptonic and hadronic decay channels. An upper limit on the production cross-section multiplied by the branching fraction at 95% confidence level is set and ranges from 22pb for a boson mass of 45GeV/c2 to 4pb for a mass of 195GeV/c2.

Evidence for the Rare Decay ?+ ?p?+?-

A search for the rare decay ?+?p?+?- is performed using pp collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies s=7 and 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb-1. An excess of events is observed with respect to the background expectation, with a signal significance of 4.1 standard deviations. No significant structure is observed in the dimuon invariant mass distribution, in contrast with a previous result from the HyperCP experiment.
