This longitudinal study examined the unique and joint effects of early adolescent temperament and parenting in predicting the development of adolescent internalizing symptoms in a cross-cultural sample. Participants were 544 early adolescents (T1: Mage=12.58; 49.5% female) and their mothers (n=530) from Medellin, Colombia (n=88), Naples, Italy (n=90), Rome, Italy (n=100) and Durham, North Carolina, United States (African Americans n=92, European Americans n=97, and Latinx n=77).

Objective: The objective of this study was to assess the links between temperament and sleep in a group of preschoolers with ADHD. Method: Twenty-five ADHD (M = 5.37 years, SD = 1.09) and 22 typically developing (TD; M = 5.10, SD = 1.18) preschoolers participated in the study. Sleep was assessed with the Sleep Disturbance Scale and wrist actigraphy. The Preschool Temperament and Character Inventory (PsTCI) was used to evaluate the child temperament.

Background: To investigate depressive symptoms, temperament, and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder traits in medical students, comparing those who sought psychological counseling with those who did not seek it. Subjects and Methods: We assessed 49 students seeking counseling (mean age=24.4 years, SD=4.07) and 49 noncounseling controls (mean age=21.7 years, SD=2.6).

Among the potential mechanisms proposed to examine the association between temperament and psychopathology, this study focuses on the risk model (Rothbart, 2004), namely the view that certain temperament dimensions increase the likelihood of developing specific psychopathological symptoms. Previous researchers found an association between
