K. Tuori, European Constitutionalism, Cambridge University Press 2015 (review)

The first part of the book describes the general characteristics of the European constitutionalism, starting with the constitutional dimensions, the constitutional functions and the relationship between transnational and national constitutionalism. The author underlines that the European constitution is something that is very far from the traditions of revolutionary constitutionalism in America and in France: it would be very difficult to find a European demos who could exercise a constituent power. The second part of the book is about “sectoral constitutionalization”.
