A permanent wireless dynamic monitoring system for the Colosseum in Rome

The protection of historical monuments from road and subway traffic vibrations is an important responsibility for the administrations of many cities. The structural health of monuments is threatened both by the effects of short-term vibrations due to construction activities and by the consequences of long-term vibrations induced by vehicles and subways. The most important historical constructions are often endowed with monitoring systems to measure and analyze these effects.

On positioning and vibration control application to robotic manipulators with a nonideal load carrying

In recent years, the evolution of artificial intelligence techniques has widely grown such that it gives new ways to improve human life, not only at work but also living. Nowadays, to the human being, physical human-robot interactions (PHRIs) have been presented very important and present itself as a major challenge for the current engineering. Therefore, this work designs and analyses a two-degree-of-freedom robotic arm with flexible joints driven by a DC motor.

An X-ray and computational study of liquid pentylammonium nitrate

In this article we report the study of liquid pentylammonium nitrate with Wide Angle X-ray scattering and AIMD simulations. Static and dynamical features were characterized by comparing the experimental X-ray pattern with ab initio molecular dynamics simulation trajectories. From the analysis, we were able to focus our attention on the nature and time duration of the hydrogen bond network established between cation and anion.
