The Pain Lab brings together neurophysiologists, neurologists, and technicians to investigate the mechanisms underlying chronic pain, with a particular emphasis on painful neuropathies. Using advanced neurophysiological testing and immunofluorescence microscopy, the lab aims to identify objective biomarkers and mechanistic pathways linking peripheral neural abnormalities to chronic pain. 

Using this multidisciplinary approach, our research focuses on several main lines of investigation, primarily addressing fibromyalgia and other forms of nociplastic pain, painful diabetic neuropathy with a specific emphasis on small fiber neuropathy, and facial pain with a special focus on trigeminal neuralgia.
