Strong adjectives, and similar phenomena, in the second generation IE languages
04 Pubblicazione in atti di convegno
A general tendency of the second generation IE languages to create new morphological means for marking explicitly the constituency of an NP is observed. The exact outcomes of this diachronic process vary from one language to another. However, if we parametrize the variation, a common pattern becomes clearly observable. In all cases, a post nominal relative pronoun undergoes the grammaticalization.
