El pliego de los folios 50-51 del Ms. Barberini Latini 3602 de la Biblioteca Vaticana
In this paper I study the Ms. Barberini Latini 3602 of the Vatican Library, an
interesting 17th century factitious songbook, focusing on the analysis of its external
structure and on some texts. In fact, it is a very rich songbook, which contains more
than 150 poems, almost all in Spanish and very different among them: there are both
poems in arte mayor (among these, for example, the sonnets de ocasión abound) and
poems in arte minor (not only the traditional ones), without indication of author.
However, in some cases, it has been possible to identify it through other sources: we
have texts by Góngora, Diego Hurtado de Mendoza, Conde de Villamediana, Diego
de Silva y Mendoza, Marqués de Alenquer and Conde de Salinas, Juan de Salinas y
Castro or Juan Fernández de Heredia.
