Given the extension of the region and the local variabilities, a summary of the data split into wide areas, homogeneous in terms of geomorphology, is proposed. however, it seems possible to identify from north to south, despite the heterogeneity of aspects difficult to set into sequences, some uniformities regarding some of them, both in the earliest phases (Macchia a Mare - zinzulusa) and in the most recent one (Late Laterza), more sensitive the latter to the movement of goods and contacts with the Aegean-balkan area. New researches bring some interventions of “preventive archeology” in the northern region, namely investigations on funerary/cultic contexts in cave in Murgia area and the discovery of the necropolis of salve with burial mounds and rituals of inhumation and incineration in salento.
