The paper presents the results of the research "SCC solutions for positive energy districts" developed by Sapienza University of Rome and the ENEA Energy Technology Dept. - Sustainable Energy Network, aimed at deepening the strategies for the transition of the built environment, towards optimized urban models such as the Smart Energy District. The focus on PED and ZEED, in the specificity of the national context, has allowed to highlight the significant gaps in the enhancement of existing buildings with high cultural value.
The research starts from the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda 2.0 elaborated by the JPIUE, integrated by the development of the European strategic plan for energy technologies, SET-Plan ACTION n ° 3.2 Implementation Plan, oriented to the promotion of PEDs, and which represents the main tool to define directions for energy efficiency and create synergistic actions between EU member countries.
