Holy See and the International Community. The Care of the ‘Common Home’ in the
Age of Global Governance. After the illustration of the ongoing globalization and its effects
on the governance of national and supranational institutional systems, the study focuses
on the legal role and action of the Holy See within the international community.
The analysis highlights the commitment of the Catholic Church to dialogue with other
religions and civil society as based on the idea that religious freedom is rooted in human
dignity. In the end, the plea of Pope Francis for the ‘care of the common home’ to be
pursued in view of an integral ecology oriented towards the common good is deeply
considered.
