Energy Markets Dynamics in a Changing Environment

Technological innovation, the need to comply with environmental
regulation and the rapid deployment of renewable energy are all factors
that are deeply changing energy supply and power markets. This should
turn into lower average prices and changes on production systems. At
the same time, inflexible generation resources experience large losses

while flexible resources system find new revenue opportunities. For in-
stance, utility companies are required to compete in a context of renew-
able energy supply and shift to new value chains and opportunities.
