The paper evidences the importance of a correct
survey, adjusting new technologies to the historicalarchitectural
needs. Thanks to the laser scanner technology it
is possible to plan the best positions of the instrument in order
to acquire the information of an architecture. Although the
laser is able to register data of the most surfaces of an
architecture, it is subject to different issues that could
compromise a good survey activity. New integrations were
performed in the S. Zenone chapel for acquiring data in
inaccessible parts and for reducing interpolations made during
the processing phase. A particular attention was focused to the
texture mapping process, considering the importance of the
mosaics and the represented scenes.
