Theoretical and experimental studies on hysteretic behaviours provided by wire ropes (steel, shape memory alloy and other materials), mechanical devices, structure and composites material (carbon-nanotube based). 
Development of phenomenological models for the identification of experimentally obtained hysteretic behaviours.
Modelling geometric and material nonlinearities in structures for static and dynamic applications.
Design and Development of mechanical devices for vibration control purposes (vibration absorbers, TMDs, isolators, shock absorbers).
Identification of static and dynamical nonlinear systems with parametric (model based) and nonparametric (neural network) methods. 
Study of the thermal effects on the dynamics of large-scale structures; modal curvatures for Structural Health Monitoring (SHM); 
Nonlinear normal modes for Structural Health Monitoring.
