Asst. Professor
Department of Astronautical, Electrical and Energy Engineering
Sapienza University of Rome

Dr. Hossein Cheraghi Bidsorkhi is an assistant professor at Sapienza University of Rome, specializing in advanced materials, nanotechnology, and flexible electronics. His research bridges materials science, wearable sensor technology, and smart systems for healthcare, energy, and aerospace applications. With a multidisciplinary background in polymer engineering, nanocomposites, and device fabrication, Dr. Bidsorkhi has made notable contributions to developing nanomaterials-based sensors, stretchable electronics, and next-generation biomedical devices.

He holds a PhD Fellowship in Electrical, Materials, and Nanotechnology Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome, and MSc degrees in Polymer Nanotechnology from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and in Health, Safety, and Environmental Management (HSEM) from Sapienza University of Rome. His academic journey has included prestigious research positions, including at the CNIS—Research Center for Nanotechnology Applied to Engineering of Sapienza.

Dr. Cheraghi Bidsorkhi has received Italy's National Scientific Qualification for Associate Professorship and has secured numerous national and international research grants, including projects funded under PRIN, INAIL, and PNRR initiatives. His scientific output includes more than 40 peer-reviewed articles, several invited talks, and four patents on smart materials and wearable systems.

He actively contributes to the scientific community as a reviewer for high-impact journals such as Science (AAAS) , a steering committee member of STITCH (Sapienza’s innovation center for health technologies), and an editorial board member for Coatings (MDPI) and other peer-reviewed journals. He also serves as a conference session chair and organizer for leading IEEE conferences such as IEEE SENSORS.

In addition to his research, Dr. Cheraghi Bidsorkhi is deeply involved in teaching and mentoring at Sapienza, where he lectures in Electrotechnics and Nanostructured Sensors for graduate and doctoral programs. His work continues to push the frontiers of smart sensors, functional materials, and their integration into real-world systems.
