Interessi di ricerca

L’attività di ricerca è rivolta allo sviluppo di metodologie per l’analisi, il controllo e l’ottimizzazione di sistemi di processo della chimica industriale. Principale obiettivo è l’analisi della interazione tra i meccanismi di trasporto e reazione che governano la dinamica dei processi investigati. Tale analisi è condotta attraverso l’implementazione sinergica di una attività di ricerca sperimentale e di una attività di modellazione matematica. Le principali linee di ricerca affrontate sono attualmente lo sviluppo di processi di elettrodeposizione di nanostrutture metalliche per applicazione in dispositivi di accumulo di energia, la produzione di biocombustibili e fine-chemical attraverso la coltivazione di micro-alghe, la produzione di adsorbenti per la rimozione di inquinanti, e il recupero di metalli da rifiuti elettrici ed elettronici e da batterie. Le attività condotte in tali ambiti sono finalizzate allo sviluppo di processi produttivi innovativi in grado di ridurre i costi e garantire una riduzione dell’impatto ambientale rispetto ai processi attualmente disponibili. A tale scopo, particolare attenzione è rivolta alla integrazione dei processi di produzione con processi di recupero/valorizzazione di rifiuti.
