Innovatività:

From an interdisciplinary point of view, the project spreads an unconventional knowledge of tourism in Rome over a long time (1950-2018). It analyzes for the first time the public policy of tourism in the republican age up to now carried out by the Ministry of Tourism, the Lazio Region, the Municipality of Rome (especially on two many important international events such as 1960 Olympic and 2015 Jubilee) and the tourism strategies implemented by ENIT, Provincial Tourism Authority of Rome, Italian Touring Club. If these strategies promote the tourist image of the city, the project links this image with the analysis of the lexicon of travel guides and of the gastronomic lexicon that they weren't thoroughly investigated by linguistics. Totally innovative the approach of ethnomusicologists that they relate some tourist practices in tourist places in Rome and the performances of foreign musicians and traditional Roman songs of ¿parking attendants¿.
The project highlights not only ways and forms of tourism policies, strategies for tourism promotion but also the influence of tourism on the lexicon of specialized publications (travel guides and gastronomic guides). It also wants to show how the presence of tourists in places of Rome where street musicians perform can promote intercultural relationships.
