The research group aim to study cellular, molecular and functional aspects of the adipose tissue/endocrine system homeostasis/biology with particular focus on interplay with the immune system. To understand how these systems can interact, in a protective manner against metabolic diseases, we used in vitro and in vivo induced models that recapitulate some pathophysiological human disorder as obesity and diabetes to identify innovative drug/therapy target molecules.
